How long do I have to wait for an appointment?

Generally, we can book an individual or couples/family session for you within one week.

Are my counselling sessions confidential and are my counselling records kept private?

Yes. Your privacy and confidentiality are of the utmost importance. According to our professional code of ethics, whatever you say in sessions remains confidential. Information disclosed in sessions and the written records relating to you are confidential and may not be revealed to anyone without your written permission except where disclosure is required by law.

How long will my sessions last?

Individual sessions last one hour and couples and family sessions last one hour and a half. First sessions usually last half an hour longer, that is, one and a half hours for individual sessions and two hours for couples and family sessions.

Do you deal with sexual issues?

It is normal for sexual issues to arise in counselling. Our training and years of professional experience allow us to deal with these issues with sensitivity and respect and within appropriate boundaries.

What happens if I can’t keep an appointment or I have to cancel?

Since scheduling a counselling appointment involves the reservation of a time specifically for you, a minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for rescheduling or cancelling an appointment. Unless we reach a different agreement, the full fee will be charged for sessions missed without notification.

How often will I have to attend sessions?

Every person is different. Within a reasonable period of time after the start of sessions, your Therapist will discuss your treatment plan with you, and this will include how often you will attend, based on your needs and your schedule.

I think the problem is my partner but he/she will not come for counselling. What should I do?

It is possible that by coming to counselling on your own, you can make significant changes within yourself, which can benefit your relationship. Even if your partner won’t come to counselling, you can work on the part you play in the patterns and dynamics of your relationship and this will generally have a positive impact on how you function as a couple.

My relationship is ending. Can you save it?

We can’t guarantee that we can save your relationship. What we can do is help you and your partner identify your negative patterns and facilitate mutual understanding.

How can I trust you to be objective and not side with my partner?

We aim to make both partners feel supported. We therefore establish an alliance with each partner and try to get an understanding of both perspectives.

When do you see clients?
